Hey! Best of luck at the races today! I am going to be watching it from an OTB joint in Osaka. I wish I could be there in Tokyo...
Anyway, could you explain the following bet. ( Random Exacta Key 7 & 12 with 2,3,8,9,14,17 ¥2000 ( total¥12,000) I just started betting horses this year and I am a little confused about this one. Does key mean bank? Isn't an Exacta just 2 horses? How does it work out to 12,000. Sorry for being a rookie.

I figured it out, I think.
So basically keyed 12 with 2,3,8,9,14,17 and then 7 with 2,3,8,9,14,17 for a 1000 each on outcome, right?
I do not see what you like in 14. Am I missing something? I think I do a similar bet, but replace 14 for 6. Best of luck today my man! Rob the bookies blind!!

Robert, Hey thanks for pointing that out.. my in-box had similar emails about this. It should be a " random trifecta" and not an exacta..i have no idea why i worded it like that?..i posted an explanation on the blog. 14 comes from Sunday Racing Co, arguably the best farm in Japan..and his bloodline makes him to dangerous to ignore..Good Luck today Robert

Turf has been somewhat of a struggle the last few weeks..I looked at it but couldnt find anything I liked..my wagering will probably stop after the 11th race in Tokyo. Will play #4 shadow Stripes 2,8,11,14

No worries about having a bad day. It happens to the best of us! I definitely listened to your advice, but I didn't completely tail you. That slow pace in the Derby really changed the dynamics of the race. Oh well... Let's get 'em next time!
