Definitely like Sacred Valley on Sunday. Will buy Spirytus for insurance but exactas with SV and Vega etc. should pay handsomely.

Very interested in how Rurinigana will perform in Hakodate's main on Sunday. I'll work her into some trios but I think I like 1,2 and maybe 7 ahead of her.

Enjoy your vacation (and don't work too hard)!

Keith, I hope you have a great day today and an even better vacation! I'm gonna try to make it to the OTB after my uni's Open Campus. Scared Valley looks really promising! :)

Keith, I just tailed you on the 11th race. It was a lot of coin! I hope we win!!:)

I'm hoping for a 18,10,9 finish! :)

I hit the exacta 16-9! Cheers! I bet the exacta instead of quintella like you had suggest, but it definitely work out well!! Cheers again!
Have an awesome trip! :)

Sorry you did say exacta so I guess we all won a fair bit little bit. Cheers again!

Wow Sean! You were spot on with the 9th race! Great day all around!! :)

I don't think Keith is gonna be responding for a while but, yeah, great day! I followed my own advice in Hakodate and won the G3 in Niigata as well thanks to Keith's tips. Originally, I didn't plan to buy 16 - I preferred 17, who actually did fairly well too - but when I saw Keith was touting him I gave it some more thought. A decent 'nige' horse always has a good chance so I added him. Glad I did. Thanks Keith!

Sean, just out of curiosity how much did you end up winning on the 9th race at Hakodate?

Yeah, I can't thank Keith enough. I just blindly tailed him because he seemed so confident. :)
I got to start listening to you more too! :)

I won 70,000 on the Hakodate race and about 60,000 on the Niigata race. It could've been a lot better - I only won the quinella in Niigata - but I'm not complaining.

If you want, let's swap notes while Keith is away. I'm not sure if I'll be betting next week though...Congrats on your win today.

Hey Sean! How's it going? I'm going away this weekend so I won't be betting on the ponies, but let's see if we can't find some interesting picks for next weekend. Have a great Obon holiday!

Alright, Robert, let's meet up here next week. Cheers!

Hey Robert,
Hope you're enjoying the hellishly hot summer weather more than I am...Would love to escape to Sapporo for this week's G2. It looks like the race of the summer in terms of quality horses. I haven't gone into it too deeply yet but Earnestly will be hard to ignore. The big question mark will again be Logi Universe. More later...

Hey Sean,
Sunday's G2 definitely looks like it's going to be a goodie! Wouldn't it be nice to go to Sapporo?! I feel like I am melting away here in Osaka.
I am going to look at it in a little more detail tomorrow, but as of now I am heavily favouring the 6 and 8 horse. Right now I am looking at betting some 2 way Exatas. 6 with 8, 10, 11, 13, and 15. And then 8 with 10, 11, 13, and 15. Waiting till the odds come out to see how much to bet. What are you thinking?

robert said...

Just a couple of quick comments. Earnestly looks like it'll be the fav in this race and deservingly so. Hiruno's best distance seems to be 2000 m. Take away the last race and its a placing machine. Also it'll be carrying only 54 kgs, 3 kgs less than all the other horses. I don't really trust Logi, but with Yokoyama back on the saddle you have to include Logi somehow in all your combination bets...

Sean said...

Yeah, Earnestly will definitely be the favorite. I've been looking for a reason not to buy him but I can't find any - he'll definitely be my first pick. Two-way exactas: 6-8, 6-11, 5-6, 1-6, 6-10, in that order. I'll also play with Earnestly and the other horses I've picked in some insurance/add-on triples. And by Sunday I might cut Logi unless he's offering good value.

What do you see in the 13 horse? The 15 I can understand but...If you're looking for a dark horse with early speed I'd take 3 over 13.

I've got a busy day ahead of me on Saturday but I'll check in late Saturday or Sunday morning. Good luck if you're betting tomorrow.

robert said...

What do I see in 13? NOTHING! :) Somehow the '1?' I wrote on my paper when I was capping the race became 13. Sorry about that! Swap the 5 for the 15 and we have pretty similar picks.

Hey Robert,

I'm a little bit hungover after last night's hanabi taikai so I think I'll just go with my Friday picks. We seem to be on the same page here so let's hope for a good result. Good luck!

robert said...

I hear you on being hungover! I went to a beer garden last night. I think I'm still a little drunk. :)
I'm gonna place a small bet on 5-6 just to make sure we are on the same page exactly.
Good luck to us!

Fujita ruined my random Trifecta, but a win is a win, I guess. It's just that it would've been so much more than the dinner money I won if he actually knew what jockeying for position meant. :)
Yamada from Yahoo sports' prediction of 11=3 in the 11th race at Niigata took a little bit of the sting away though, so I'm going home happy.

Still have an awful head but ironically it may have helped me. I didn't even bother reconsidering Logi and so won on the quinella and the trio (which paid a generous 95-1, wish I had bet more than a thousand yen on it...). Anyways, I think we've got this blog moving in the right direction.
Take it easy.
