Robert..havnt done my nfl selections yet. I'm not so keen on the foreign jockeys myself. Both Jaguar and Vista could be a headache to ride first time out.... I won in kyoto today off of shonen Alba, one of my favorite horses in the swan stakes..it paid great. I didnt post it here instead going for the Fukushima race which lost.didnt wheel the winner in that one. Jessica Alba's pic always brighten up the blog too! stupid stupid

Nice hit on Alba. I watched that on TV and wondered if you'd bet him.

I'm going with Buena and Shingen in tomorrow's G1. I like Axion and Earnestly but as third place candidates. (Anywhere but Tokyo and I'd bet Earnestly hard.)

Alba has been very consistent for me the last 2 years especially when he isnt one of the favorites like today. The traffic increases here in the autumn and that would have been a good ¥¥
for this blog to have but... Shingen definitely likes Tokyo. I didn't put him higher for the only reason I don't like horses that won after a long layoff in their second race back. Its difficult to duplicate..but he did put together a string of consecutive wins last year so he has the ability. Buena is a horse I just cant figure how to wager at maximum value..she is too scary to put on top as a lone key horse..perhaps to key her for second with some wheel horses. The new jockey some what makes me tentative too ..I think Jaguar is aiming for the Japan Cup thus this is just a tune up so leaving him out..Thule on soft going could be there if he doesn't get challenged by silport..Should be fun! good luck

Yeah, a 'bounce' for Shingen is definitely a concern but for a 7 y/o he still seems fresh - only 17 races in his career...I agree with you about Jaguar and Thule (although I don't think Thule will be able to take the lead). With a soft track, Buena could definitely finish 2nd or 3rd but I'm OK with that - what's important to me is she always runs an honest race. And she can run any type of race so the French jockey or the soft going aren't big concerns to me. If anything, a foreign jockey's aggressiveness will be a plus. Anyways, definitely looking forward to it. Cheers.

P.S. There's some good value to be had with Buena & Axion. I recommend the following trios: 2-11-12 (65-1) and 2-10-11 (120-1)

cool, thanks sean...ill definitely expand my ticket play if I can hit some of the earlier races tomorrow morning. Putting Buena in trios seems the best play on her.

Hey sean, how did u play Vista? I put her in some random trifectas but the 16.0 payout wasn't near enough to cover the cost of the total wager package so chalk up another g1 loss for me...The day started what i thought was great. I was listening to the 4th race in tokyo on the train and thought for sure i had won since the announcers were repeating #5 kingdom king over and over..then i saw the results and he had gotten a photo finish for 3rd with the 14..ouch!..he was already going off at 18-1 and i boxed him with 6 others including the 22-1 winner. Got back a 100-1 random ticket trio but missed out on what would of been a great exacta payout if only he could have done a little more..robert.just going with the saints tomorrow for my lone nfl wager.

I had Vista and Pelusa as insurance but still took a minor loss. I needed Shingen to take at least third but he seemed to have a heart attack in the last 100 m. It pays to be ballsy I guess. If there was one horse that could beat Buena in today's field it was Pelusa. Everybody knows he's got tons of potential but I was overly concerned about his start (which he missed again today). He wasn't offering great value anyways but if he goes to the Japan Cup the odds will be even worse after today's performance. Kicking myself...

I did all right today as I took 2 with 5, 7,10,11&12 in a couple trio combos. Only if Sakura Oken could finished in the money...
Keith, you are brave man backing the saints in this spot... I'm taking Miami and GB this Sunday. GL!

Jumping on Chi/Buff over 40 now. Buffalo won't be able to pressure Cutler much and I'm expecting both passing offenses to be able to put up over 20 points each in the place formerly called the Skydome.
