Takarazuka: A Summer Suprise?

Buena Vista's proverbial late spurt might be her undoing this Sunday, as yielding track conditions look to be more of an advantage for her contenders rather than the " Queen of the Turf" herself.

Rulership and Earnesty took to similar conditions quite well in the Kinko Sho last month. Namura Cresent faltered down the stretch in last years running but looks to be in better form this time around. To The Glory, has a chance as well as long as regular jockey Fukunaga can take the lead early and maintain a " controlled pace". Rose Kingdom, with new jockey Williams, should be sitting pretty off the pace enabling him to make a "kick" come stretch time that wasn't there in the Tenno-Sho.

The Wager: Straight Trifecta Keying #8 for 2nd....( 2,3,9,14) & ( 8) & (1,2,3,9,14) * 16 tickets ¥1000
Straight Trifecta Keying #8 for 3rd....( 2,3,9,14) & (2,3,4,9,14) & (8) * 16 tickets ¥1000

Each-Way Exacta Box (2,3,9,14) * 12 tickets ( ¥1000 ) Total Wager ¥48,000

Put alot of emphasis on the weather. it looks like scattered rain fall all weekend though? Regardless, Im still feeling an unusual less than stellar performance by Buenna anyways. Also it might look like an mistake but i have Flash (4) only in the second place bracket and then Cresent 1 for 3rd leaving out flash for 3rd. If buena does come in second and flash for 3rd its most likely a less than desirable payout I needed anyhow

It's supposed to start raining hard tomorrow. As of now, there isn't a cloud in the sky...

It looks like we are pretty much on the same page, but I'm leaving out Glory...

Not a cloud in the sky again today and the weather forecast is giving us the 晴れマーク for today and tonight. Interesting...

Keith, I think that's a great play. Provided that Buena doesn't win it, you have multiple chances for a good score. I might do something like that myself. However, I always try to narrow it down as much as I can. I think Rose and To The Glory offer great value. I haven't quite decided yet but I think I'm gonna go for some triples with Rose and Buena, and go especially hard with To the Glory.

I've decided to shadow Keith with a few exceptions. I'm going with Flash (4) rather than Namura in both trifecta formations. But I'm only betting 500 apiece. And I'm not going with that 2,3,9,14 exacta box. Instead, I'm going with 8 and 9 & 14 in 1500 yen one way exactas. Also have 8 and 9 with 2,3,4 and 14 in 2000 yen trios. Finally, 14-8-9, 14-9-8(doubling up), 8-9-2 and 8-2-9 in 1000 yen trifectas. Total wager of 39,000. Kind of a reckless bet but, hey, it's the last G1 for a while. And I really think Buena will have trouble winning this. 2nd or 3rd is definitely in the cards. On the other hand I think Rulership is way overvalued. He could romp for sure but he could just as easily disappoint. Lot of possibilities so I really like keith's approach. Ok, I gotta get to bed...Good luck.

Sean, "Provided that Buena doesn't win it" Famous last words ...These types of wagers are tough to watch. I like to follow my key horse during the race of course but when ur key horse is pegged for 3rd the rooting experience can be awkward...**Far corner>> Ok, Buena turn it on!!>>>>Whoa Buena, SLOW it down but just a tad... lol

My horses came in and I ended up winning just under 70,000. Not bad...

Looks like you did pretty good too Sean. How much did you win?

Good work gentlemen! Unfortunately for me I didn't have Flash in for third so today was a bust :(

Sean, I should have shadowed you today and included Flash! lol, Congrats Robert. You were on Earnesty quite early in the week.

"If buena does come in second and flash for 3rd its most likely a less than desirable payout I needed anyhow "....That was some stupid logic for sure. Surely, wasnt expecting a ticket with Flash and Buenna on it to pay over 100??

Congrats, Robert. I took 87,000 from a 31,000 wager (it wasn't 39 if anybody cares). Nothing glorious but I'll take it. If Rose had taken third it would've been much more profitable (I guess Keith would agree with that too). But I really had a good feeling about those formations - thanks Keith.
