February 13th

Tokyo 11 Race

# 11 Danon Ballade....#13 Deep Sound....Besides from last weeks Kisaragi-sho, where Rikisan Max turned over the apple cart at 40-1, the step races have been running to form. Deep Impacts sires have already proven their worth and odds are that wont change in tomorrows G3. The interesting note, that I will continue to wager on, is that so far no race has a Impact horse ran 1st AND 2nd together in a single race. So I will dutch the two horses separately without a play on them together.

The Wager: 2-11, 6-11, 11-12, ¥4000 Each-Way Exacta
2-13, 6-13, 12-13 ¥3000 Each-Way Exacta

What about the G2 in Kyoto? Robert, you're in the zone. Keith, of course i want your thoughts too. I'm thinking Bruce Lee but...

Sean, I hope my luck continues... I love Bruce Lee tomorrow, but my main horse will be Beluga. They both got great great draws, but I'm pretty sold on Beluga.
My bet will be 5 with 1,2,3,4&12 in each way exactas.

hey guys, there are many things I dont like about this race, the main one being the " In it to win it" factor. Both Lee and Beluga will be headed for the tenno-sho on May 1st( barring injury of course)..the next possible tune up would be the Nikkei sho on March 26th. Its unlikely neither horse will enter a Nakayama prep especially for their fondness for Kyoto. The only horse with ability that wont go up in distance is #4 Danon Chantilly and to some extent 2 To the glory. That being said there is nothing to say that Lee and belga wont give 100% but at their present form will that be enough..granted the field is short, so why not? personally I wouldnt make them a key to anything but probably play 1 and 4 with them and 1or 4 with some mid-price fliers. as always it depends on my earlier results to dictate if i play on the other main races or not.

Hiru...he has a race under his belt and did beat Kingdom. He is more dependent on To The Glory's fractions however..if decent then I could envision a Bruce & Hiru stretch dual

Cheers Keith! Great analysis like always.

For the G3 in Tokyo tomorrow I am leaning towards backing 2 with 5,6,10,11&12 in each way exactas.

GL on your plays tomorrow guys!

My guess is that all the Deep Impact horses ( all 4 will be over-bet, especially 11 ( probably 1.9-2.3) so your 2 should get decent odds.

Another productive day! :)

your in the zone Robert!! How did you play 5 in kyoto and 2 in tokyo?

Unfortunately, I only played them in each way exactas... Thanks to you Keith, I'm learning to pick some winners, but I still need you to teach me a lot in order for me to maximize my profits.
I'm heading back to Canada for 3 weeks tomorrow, but I will still post my plays for the February Stakes ( even though I won't be able to bet it! :( )

Good stuff, Robert. Going with Meisho was particularly impressive. Have a great trip! Drink some Molson's for me (although I know you can do better than that)...

I can't wait to get home so I can't drink some Canadian beer! :) I'm not a big fan of Molson, but I love Sleemans and Labatts.

Cheers Keith on offering to place a bet for me, but I wouldn't want you to do it for me if I didn't get the money to you first. I might take you up on your offer sometime in the future though. Although my fiancee doesn't like to go to WINS, I'm pretty sure she will go place a bet for me if I bug her enough.

Hey guys,

GTs in Canada, but I can't keep away from the ponies.lol

Transcend seems to be the deserving favorite, but didn't fair so well his last time out in Tokyo. I think he will still be my key horse though. I love the odds and potential of Silk Mobius, too... Other horses I am eyeing right now include: Danon, Cosmo (a front runner with kick), Birdie Birdie (sentimental pick), Daisho (great current form and odds) and Live Concert (even though horses going from grass to dirt usually don't usually do well).

I am not going to buy Furioso (out-classed) or Sei Crimson (the distance scares me) unless one of you can talk me into it.

Keith and Sean, I can't wait to see your picks!
Unless one of you can talk me into buying

Ignore that last sentence. Too many Canadian beers! :)
