St. Lite Kinen

NAKAYAMA 11 Race...#12 Target Machine...A wager fully on potential and not based on his recent outings. A probable 30-1 starter hasn't shown any of the early talent that had him the favorite in the Yayoi-sho along with Sadamu Patek. Surely a nice bankroll builder if Target can hit the boards but if not ,here's hoping for a dismal showing and not a value inflating 4th or 5th place finish.

The Wager: #12 with 1,2,8,11,14 ¥1000 Each-way Exacta
# 12 with 1,2,8,9,11,14..¥10000 Random Trios

I'm on the Rose...2,6,9,12 exacta box. But then playing Whale to finish 2nd or (hopefully) 3rd in trifecta formations with the above boxed horses. 1000 apiece on the exactas, 500 yen on the trifecta formations.

And for fun I'm also going to box 11, 12 and 14 in the St. Lite Kinen. Good luck.

sean, Fateful war delivered. U almost got it there at the end. I think if i hadnt bet Target blind and looked at the race more partially I might have had a piece of some of those tickets. Rather the play on Tosen or Sadamu either way I would have had War as one of my flyer horses for sure.

Keith you must be kicking yourself for switching to Target after touting Fateful War earlier in the year. He looked pretty strong today - he might factor in Kyoto.
I tweaked my Rose picks, almost hit a nice one but 11 busted up my ticket. Had the first and third place finishers in both races so at least I got my heart pumping. Need a beer now to unwind. Losing at the wire is the worst...

Target has cost me a pretty penny this year. Not only the loss of the losing wagers but the amount of money I could have won if I had laid off him. In for a penny in for a pound I think is correct( vice versa?) so I will continue to bet him. Since he finished 12th the odds will still be there even if he drops down to an open race on a Saturday card. Eventually I'll nail it with him. Someday before I go broke I hope lol
