Juvenile Fillies

Hanshin 11th Race

# 8 Pure Opal...She lead with a blistering 32.9 high pace and still showed no signs of tiring clocking in at 1.08.0 on Sept 18th in Nakayama. With nearly 10 weeks off and a first time race at the longer distance ,the odds are priced appropriately at 24.8. Still all in all, if the off time did her well she certainly could figure.

The Wager: ¥10,000 show ticket

8-11, 8-14 ¥500 Each-Way Exacta
8-11, 8-14 ¥2000 Wide Ticket

The Kokura 11th race had three 3yr-olds in the field of eighteen and all three come in. Another 3yr-old winning the Alima anyone?!

Gestalt came up a little short...
What do you think of the 6 horse, Meine Isabel, in the Juvinelle tomorrow? Seems like everyone is on Reve d'Essor, Dance Fantasia or Adventura.

Robert..Yeah, and I was so enticed by the 3yr-olds that I didnt even buy #8 Phantom..but I didnt like that he had been running on dirt the last three races...Truthfully, I can envision many plays tomorrow on the Juvenile none of which I can bet with any amount of certainty. Opal does well in my pace-line simulator but it hasn't proven its worth all that well on grass, so its just a simple expectation she might hang on to at the very least nip a show result. #6..both of her wins came at the same track with high odds. She faltered at 3.9 and at a different track last time out. Her odds will be better this time but im gonna guess her worth was more from the track than the ability but then again I cant get a good read on alot of these horses..she does have the Sunday Silence bloodline so that always figures....Whale Capture looks interesting but even though Im not a die hard greenpeace lover that name does rattle my cage somewhat.lol

I got the odds for the Hong Kong races. Cheers. But a Snow Fairy-Vision d'Etat quinella is like 3 to 1 so I'll pass. Don't know enough about the other horses...

Bold play with Pure Opal. I like it.

1-11 5000 quinella
1-11-14 5000 trio
1-5-11 3000 trio
1-8-11 2000 trio
14-11 2500 exacta
14-11-1 2500 trifecta

sean, you cant go wrong with a Sumi trained horse on #1 thats for sure. I'm not a big fan of her sire Jungle Pocket at anything 1600m or shorter though. She is the only horse in the field that has ran at 1800( previous race) because thats what her bloodline dictates. But he definitely has had the hot hand as of late.

I'll lay a few bets in the Hong Kong Vase...dutching Joshua Tree and Winchestar . Between them Jaugar Mail and Vice...leaving out the favorite American. He won the Melbourne Cup with snail pace fractions which Im not so sure he can get here.

Point well taken about Jungle Pocket but unfortunately there are no 2400 m races at Tokyo for 2 year olds. lol. And if she can't do well here she probably won't factor in next year's classic races either. Which isn't to say that I'm particularly confident...
