May 15th Selection

Nigatta 11 Race

Boxing 1,5,6,7,8.....#8 Vaiade..Wild Rush was the leading sire winner at 1000 meters in Niigata last year. This years sample is too small to indicate if he is still on top but will go with this angle anyways.

Sean, you were at the edge before you had to step back because of my top pick. Unfortunately he beat out Jo though which sucked. Im not betting the G1 tomorrow unless I win my early races in which I might throw Wild Raspberry around the top 2 wonder women for some fun.

How to stake the G1 - any thoughts? I'm thinking either 15000 on Buena and Apapane then 10000 on 3 or 4 triples OR screwing the crappy odds on the quinella and putting the whole 25 on the trios.

Its tough because outside them two Im not sure what all horses to put. I would like to play the top 2 as an insurance bet and then put Buenna on top with Appa for third and then visa versa and hope some mid price flier can interrupt these two for a decent straight trifecta. I think you were alluding to a similar style earlier this week. like 13-1-16, 16-1-13, 13-2-16, 16-2-13

Yeah, I was saying something like that, wasn't I...That's probably what I'll do, but as you say, there's not much to choose between the other 15 horses. The main race tomorrow in Kyoto (1400 m, dirt) is starting to look good. Might opt for that instead.

What are you boys thinking for the main race at Kyoto?

For the G1, I'm going to put Buena to finish first and then second in trifectas with 2,9,16&17 and hope that Appane comes in third or better yet doesn't hit the board. GL!

I have to believe Buena and Apapane will come through - the other ponies are GIII level. Trios and trifectas with 2, 4, 5, 12 and 15 plus a 10,000 insurance gate (7-8).

For the main in Kyoto I boxed 4,6, 12 and 13. Then 4 and 6 with 2, 12, 13, 14 and 16. All 500 yen. Good luck guys.

Nice play, Keith! Both your key horses hit this weekend...Another unspectacular win for me in the G1 (although my longshot horses almost came through for me) but in the red for the weekend. Ho hum...

Wish I would have a ridden the silport wave with craig and then I could have had a nice main race return weekend. But it was still ok. I didnt bet the Victoria but the exacta paying 7 wasn't such a bad payout. I hope the track continues to run like this until derby day. If it has to rain I hope mother nature allows it only for this week for sure

The derby's gonna be tough. The oaks might be the surer bet but of course never know which girl can or can't handle the extra 8...Keith, gentle nudge on getting the WIN5 pool going.

Another plethora of news we will have to dissemble for the Derby. Im trying to get some info on the win 5. The site has june 12th as the last day? It might be the last day that they take money away for Quake relief. If the ticket is set to be offered indefinitely then I'll get started on it for sure.
